The review
Papa Foo bought this book from Hook on Books. What caught our eye besides the very relevant topic was how this story got printed. The authors are two 11 year old students in Singapore who have been publishing their class' English magazine. To challenge themselves, they decided to take part in a Mandarin picture book creation competition and this story came in 2nd place in the 2017 edition.

This book chronicles the life of a much-beloved and smelly Chou Chou, from the stories about school its owner Xiao En recounts to him, to its ensuing adventures when it found itself in Xiao En's school bag. From meeting new cushy friends in the school library, to getting chased by birds, and eventually encountering The Big Wash, it's a heartwarming and fun story.
I love the drawing style! It's distinct with a lot of appeal. And they printed the original handwriting which adds to the charm. It really felt like I was reading a book for children by children, and I enjoyed reading the story, and so did Foolet!
